Luke Paxton Commits to Davenport University Wrestling

The Davenport University wrestling program just got a major boost. Pewamo-Westphalia standout Luke Paxton has officially committed to continue his academic and athletic career as a Panther in the GLIAC.

Luke leaves an incredible mark on the P-W wrestling program. Coming off a dominant 44-7 season, he surpassed the elite 100-career-win milestone, proving himself as a force on the mat and a leader in the room. His trophy case is well-stocked, featuring a CMAC Championship, a Team MVP nod, and Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the Durand Invitational. Luke saved his best for the biggest stage, placing 3rd at the MHSAA D3 State Finals and earning All-State honors.

But it’s Luke’s performance off the mat that truly defines him. A powerhouse in the classroom and a role model for his peers, he departs P-W as an Academic All-State selection, a Scholar All-American, and a recipient of the NWCA Character & Leadership All-American award. Davenport isn't just getting a great wrestler; they’re getting a high-caliber student-athlete who embodies the "Pirate Pride" spirit.
